The Beginning
Writing. I used to write back in the day. Local Stuff. College newspapers and stuff. Always heavily edited. I was never able to get my point across. Then I guess life got in the way. Just the ordinary everyday BS. I'm taking this writing back up to keep me sane. Moved to a new state. I'm trying to remain on the low to avoid the same life I had back in the NYC. I'm a little older and a lot wiser. I'm just focusing on things that matter in life. Being in a new place with lots of time on your hand makes you see the world in a different light. Being in touch with GOD also enables you to see things at all angles. I think he opens your eyes to a lot of the things of the world. I need to put this out there? Is anybody seeing what I'm seeing. The Blatant Tomfoolery of my black people. The prejudging, the guilty before innocent. Is it me or do you feel that there is no hope for the youth of tomorrow. To me it seems over the last seven years everything is getting dumbed down. I could blame it on Bush but that would be to easy and a whole other story I don't feel like touching on right now. I think a perfect storm hit my people. Between children raising children, the music and the crazy lifestyle my people want to live. Its just plain crazy, and whats more crazy is where do you start. Where do you begin? Who could you teach? It bewilders me. I try to speak to the youth but they get on me and tell me I'm old school. Well thank GOD for technology. I'm starting this blog to reach out to people out there. To see if anybody is feeling the same way I am. And what we can do to uplift our people. This is just a start. I hope it can lead into something big. If not I know I tried and played my part. More to come next week. I'm open to suggestions............

Ahhhh.....the age old question of getting through to the youth of the day. Well, sitting here in the ATL watching the news night after night and seeing the human carnage that takes place throughout the ATL really makes you wonder. The first 20 minutes of nearly every nightly broadcast speaks of murder or mayhem. So what is the solution??? I don't know the end all be all solution but how about we go to the source of the carnage on our people instead of holding functions hoping they come to us. Just an example, instead of having a Sunday morning talk show debating the issues of Black folks, go to where these young people congregate on the Saturday night before. Most people who need to hear our message/ any message are asleep because they were out the night before partying it up and doing GOD knows what. Same thing with the Town Hall meetings on violence, crime or drugs in a community. The people who need to hear the outcry and the depair and the solutions are not there, they are still on the corners, standing in front of the stores plying their trade while the same people attend the same functions getting the same results. More lip service from the public officials and the same youth committing the same acts against their people. Sigh.....as the world turns my friends.

Tight
The second law of themodynamics is in full play. We are all trying to make sense of things while living in the rotting carcass of a lost and sinful world. There is one answer and it can't be forced on anyone. The symptoms, we all see plainly if we care to look, are all around us. They imping on us differently based on our background and experience.
It has been reaffirmed anew that we must 1>Love the Lord GOD and 2> Love your neighbor as your self.
Tall order for this sin filled man.
Seems like the question is more than just...A Question! With my innocent mind, let me take a stab at why God, govenment, people; yes our people seem to be intertwined. Simply think back to when we were growing up, maturing from a child to adolesence to young adult. Our parents (notice the plurality) probaly attempted to tell, show, play out scenario's and help us at some point. Recall 15 - 20 years ago...the music wasn't a fad...it was new and it was an outlet, the language was different, but it was "our" way of communicating...simply foreign to others. As far as the world we live in - with time comes change. This is the one constant factor which cannot be changed by the government or people; yes our people. Not the government or people of yesterday, today or tomorrow!
But, the one thing that these two "puppets of Gods world" can change is R E S P E C T. Yes respect! Now let's go full circle back to the original question(s)...why, when and how? Why is today's society a shy-cry from equality? Simply because even today, in the year 2007 the RESPECT level between races, nations, religions...man-kind itself is still tilted. When will the tomfoolery end? When the RESPECT level can be placed on even a playground see-saw and consistenly balanced. How did we get to this point? When time changed 15 - 20 years ago...so did the RESPECT level!
Keep doing what you are doing. Glad you began to write again.
